The mission of the Lemay Development Corporation (LDC) is the preservation and advancement of the Lemay Community by acting as the primary catalyst in the implementation of community and economic development initiatives.
The LDC was founded in 1982 by the Lemay Chamber of Commerce as its economic development division. More recently, the LDC has become a fully independent organization. This change occurred with the goal of better serving the businesses and residents of the Lemay Community.
LDC has a strong track record of engaging in a wide range of community development activities, including but not limited to, real estate redevelopment, administering job training/retraining programs, community organizing and youth programming.
The organization is governed by a Board of Directors and day-to-day management is handled by the organization’s staff members.
Since the area known as Lemay lies in unincorporated St. Louis County, the LDC acts as the leading advocate for area businesses and residents. The board and staff members of the LDC work hand-in-hand with residents, private developers, and government agencies (local, state and federal) to accomplish the LDC’s mission.
